C. Mahillon ("Goeyens", 1926)

This is a trumpet in Bb, model "Goeyens", made by C. Mahillon in 1926. Apart from a large dent and small creas in the bell, it looked to be in good condition. When I tried playing it, I thought at first it was playable, until I pressed the 3rd valve, when it suddenly wasn't. You can see in the picture why...

I made a pacth over the hole and now it is in very good playing condition. I will have to have the dent and creased removed, but for now I am happy with this. the Belgian trumpet models from late 19th & early 20th Century have something appealing to them.
